Madrid, Spain (SportsNetwork.com) - Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale will miss upcoming matches with Liverpool and Barcelona this week because of a hip injury.

Bale sustained the problem while on international duty with Wales and he was forced to watch Saturday's 5-0 win over Levante from the substitutes bench.

But it now appears as though Bale will be ruled out altogether for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Liverpool as well as the first Clasico of the season with Barcelona three days later.

The 25-year-old has tallied four goals in seven La Liga matches this season for Madrid, which will hope to close the four-point gap between themselves and Barca at the top of La Liga.

Barcelona has yet to concede a goal in eight league games this season, and Real will be hoping to welcome back striker Karim Benzema, who missed the Levante match with a toe injury.
