(SportsNetwork.com) - Victoria Azarenka has withdrawn from scheduled events in Madrid and Rome as she continues to recover from a foot injury.
Azarenka made the announcement through her Twitter account.
"Just wanted to give everyone an update on my recovery," she wrote, adding a video to the message. "Working hard to get fit again. Will be in touch soon."
Azarenka hasn't played since a second-round loss to Lauren Davis in Indian Wells and made just two other starts this year. She lost to Serena Williams in the final of the season-opening event in Brisbane and fell to Agnieszka Radwanska in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.
