Alkmaar, Netherlands (SportsNetwork.com) - AZ Alkmaar reached the summit of the Eredivisie table on Saturday after easing to a 2-0 victory over Den Haag at the AFAS Stadion.

Coming off a 2-0 win over Zwolle last week, AZ Alkmaar had the better of the play for the majority of the first half and finally opened the scoring three minutes before the break when Nemanja Gudelj fired it home.

After the interval, Alkmaar doubled its advantage 25 minutes from time through a goal by Johann Gudmundsson. Den Haag sent numbers forward over the final 25 minutes, but were ultimately unable to break down Alkmaar's back four.

Alkmaar moves atop the table on 22 points with the result, while Den Haag stays in the bottom three with 10 points through 11 matches played.

Elsewhere in the Eredivisie on Saturday, Valeri Kazaishvili netted the only goal of the match in second-half stoppage time as Vitesse earned a 1-0 victory against Ajax.

Twente got off to a quick two-goal lead against NEC through goals from Eghan Shadrach and Quincy Promes, but NEC answered with two second-half tallies from Soren Rieks and Jakob Jantscher as the clubs battled to a 2-2 stalemate.

In Saturday's final Eredivisie fixture, 10-man Zwolle held on for a 1-1 draw against PSV. Jeffrey Burma opened the scoring for PSV in the third minute, but Fred Benson equalized for Zwolle 11 minutes later.

Benson was then sent off five minutes from time, but the visitors hung on to claim a point.
