Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Oakland Athletics have acquired infielder Jake Elmore from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for cash considerations.

Elmore appeared in 52 games for the Houston Astros last season and batted .242 with two homers and six runs batted in. He hit .191 with seven RBI in 30 games for Arizona in 2012.

The 26-year-old Arizona State product is a career .291 hitter in six minor league seasons.

Oakland also designated infielder Andy Parrino for assignment. Parrino, acquired from San Diego in a 2012 trade, hit .118 in 14 games for the Athletics in 2013.
