Athletic Bilbao came from behind to secure a 5-2 win over Eibar to cement their place in the top half of the Primera Division.

In an entertaining game, Eibar took the lead in just the fourth minute when on-loan striker Borja Baston finished off a counter attack with a neat finish for the first of his two goals.

However, the visitors were in front for less than 10 minutes when Bilbao equalized through Aritz Aduriz, who latched onto a cross from Oscar De Marcos.

Bilbao were ahead on 27 minutes courtesy of a header from forward Sabin before Aymeric Laporte made it 3-1 just five minutes before the break.

The goals continued to flow in the second half, with the visitors clawing one back on 50 minutes through Baston from the penalty spot after a foul by Laporte.

The hosts regained their two-goal advantage just two minutes later when Aduriz tapped home a Mikel Balenziaga cross for his second.

The result was confirmed when Argentine defender Mauro Dos Santos turned the ball into his own net on 80 minutes, giving the home side a comfortable victory.

A ninth win of the season takes Bilbao on to 31 points, just two behind Eibar, who remain in sixth place in the table.
