The Houston Astros placed first baseman Carlos Lee on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring Sunday and recalled first baseman Brett Wallace from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Lee was injured during the Astros' 4-1 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Friday at Minute Maid Park.

The 35-year-old slugger was batting .297 with four home runs and 23 RBI over 49 games this season.

Over 14 seasons, Lee is a career .287 hitter with 353 homers and 1,309 RBI in just over 2,000 games.

Wallace, 25, batted .259 with five homers and 29 RBI in 115 games with the Astros last season and has 10 home runs and 37 RBI in 50 games at Oklahoma City this year.
