Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Houston Astros and veteran relief pitcher Matt Albers agreed to a one-year contract on Tuesday. The deal includes a club option for the 2015 season.
Albers spent last season in Cleveland, where he went 3-1 with a 3.14 earned run average in 56 relief appearances.
Over eight seasons with Houston, Baltimore, Boston, Arizona and Cleveland, the 30-year-old right-hander has compiled a 25-31 record with a 4.49 ERA in 356 games, including 23 starts.
With the addition of Albers, Houston's roster is now at 39.
