Oakland, CA – The Oakland A's placed first baseman Daric Barton on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, retroactive to March 24 with a strained right shoulder.
Barton was limited to just seven games this spring. He hit .176 with a double.
In 67 games for the A's last season, Barton batted .212 with 13 doubles and 21 RBI.
In five major league seasons -- all with Oakland -- Barton is a career .252 hitter with 26 home runs and 157 RBI.
