While the Texas Longhorns football program descends into internal chaos, second-year coach Charlie Strong keeps picking up voices of support.
Before Saturday's meltdown at TCU, interim athletics director Mike Perrin voiced his emphatic support of Strong and the way in which he is running the program. After last week's last-minute loss to Oklahoma State, billionaire booster Red McCombs reportedly reached out to Strong via email to lend his support.
And now after the debacle in Forth Worth, a 50-7 thumping that has since spilled over into players barking at one another through the media and on Twitter, Strong at least seems to have firm footing within the university.
According to Geoff Ketchum of Orangebloods.com, a source said Strong "has full and committed support within the Texas administration and AD office."
And former defensive back Quentin Jammer, who played under Mack Brown more than a decade ago, took to his Twitter account to tell Longhorns fans calling for Strong's ouster to simmer down.
