London, England (SportsNetwork.com) - Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is facing six weeks on the sidelines after suffering a hairline fracture in his left foot during England's friendly match against Denmark.
The 22-year-old was caught by Daniel Agger in a robust challenge in the 12th minute of Wednesday's 1-0 win at Wembley. He was able to return to the match but was substituted in the 59th minute.
Initial scans revealed no ill effects from the tackle, but Arsenal administered its own examination which revealed a fracture that will keep the midfielder out of action the next six weeks.
