LISBON, Portugal (AP) Arouca was held to a 1-1 draw at Pacos Ferreira on Sunday, missing a chance to take the lead of the Portuguese league.

Bruno Moreira gave the hosts a 1-0 advantage in the third minute, and Nuno Valente equalized for Arouca in the 34th.

Arouca won its first two matches of the season and another victory would have left the small club from northern Portugal in sole possession of first place in the 18-team standings. Arouca has seven points, along with Sporting and FC Porto.

On Saturday, fourth-place Benfica edged Moreirense 3-2 at home, while Porto earned a 2-0 win over Estoril, also at home.

In other matches Sunday, Sporting defeated Academica 3-1 in Coimbra, while Braga routed Boavista 4-0.
