Tucson, AZ – University of Arizona junior swingman Kevin Parrom will return to campus after being shot.
Parrom was in New York City over the weekend to visit his ailing mother, and was shot once behind his right knee early Saturday morning, according to the Arizona Republic.
"Kevin Parrom returned to Tucson last night. He will return to classes this week and also begin his rehabilitation process," said Arizona head coach Sean Miller in a statement issued on Tuesday afternoon. "We will know a lot more about his return to basketball activities in a month. At this time our focus is to provide him a comprehensive support system to allow him to progress to his full potential. Kevin, first and foremost, is fortunate to be alive."
The 6-foot-6 native of the Bronx averaged 7.6 points and 3.6 rebuonds per contest over 38 games during his sophomore season.
