Houston, TX – NFL owners awarded Super Bowl XLIX to Glendale, Arizona, during Tuesday's meetings in Houston.
Glendale beat the Tampa area in the bidding on the second ballot.
It marks the third time the game will be held in the greater-Phoenix area. University of Phoenix Stadium hosted Super Bowl XLII in 2008 when the New York Giants denied the New England Patriots' quest for a perfect season. In 1996, Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe hosted Super Bowl XXX, with Dallas beating Pittsburgh.
Indianapolis will host this year's Super Bowl, followed by New Orleans and the New York/New Jersey region.
