PHOENIX – Mark Trumbo hit his third home run and Dan Haren allowed two runs in five innings to help the Los Angeles Angels beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-3 on Friday.
Haren gave up five hits and a walk with three strikeouts. The right-hander had entered the game with only one earned run allowed in 10 previous innings.
Milwaukee starter Zack Greinke was even more impressive, allowing only two hits over 5 1/3 scoreless innings with nine strikeouts.
The Angels used two hits, a walk and an error to score four unearned runs off Brewers closer John Axford in the top of the seventh. Trumbo hit a solo shot to begin Los Angeles' two-run eighth inning against Francisco Rodriguez.
Ryan Braun singled in the first for his second hit of the spring. Braun finished 1 for 2 with a walk and a run scored and is 2 for 19 overall.
