On Monday, Angels first baseman/designated hitter Albert Pujols had surgery on his right foot to repair the planter plate in his right foot.

"The surgery, as expected, went very well," said Angels General Manager Billy Eppler. "Albert will continue rehabbing in the Kansas City area throughout the winter and is expected to resume full baseball activities in four-and-a-half months."

During his 15th Major League season in 2015, Pujols hit 40 home runs (for seventh time in his career) and 95 RBI in 157 games played. Pujols also joined teammates Mike Trout and Hector Santiago as members of the American League All-Star team.

Pujols holds a .312 career-batting average to go along with 560 HRs and 1,698 RBI.
