Updated

Good news for the Angels, who expect to activate OF Josh Hamilton on Tuesday. Hamilton has been out since tearing a ligament in his thumb on April 8. If you own Hamilton, it's safe to start him this week.

On to the rest of the news:

Hamilton's teammate, Mike Trout, missed two games over the weekend due to back tightness, but should be ready to play tomorrow.

Orioles OF/MLB home run leader Nelson Cruz left Sunday's game shortly after getting hit in the left hand by a Scott Feldman pitch, but X-rays were negative and he's day to day.

It's Stephen Drew Day for the Red Sox. What does that mean for his teammates? According to the Boston Herald, Xander Bogaerts will move the third base on a full-time basis, and Brock Holt will play some first base this week until Mike Napoli comes off the DL on Sunday. When Will Middlebrooks is ready to play again in a month or so, maybe we'll revisit this, but Bogaerts' fantasy owners need not worry.

The Rays placed OF Wil Myers on the DL with a sprained right wrist. Jerry Sands (9 HR at Triple A) was called up to replace Myers on the roster, and immediately started in the cleanup spot as the DH. Want to give Sands a tryout, AL-only owners?

If you missed it, the Cardinals called up blue-chip prospect Oscar Taveras on Saturday, and he'll be their everyday right fielder while batting sixth. The 21-year-old Taveras is owned in 41 percent of FOXSports.com leagues, and while he projects to be a very good player, he currently offers solid power without much speed. He's probably a better real player than fantasy player for now, but can be considered in all formats.

Streaming starters: John Danks gave us a strong outing on Friday, Brandon McCarthy wasn't so good on Saturday, and Jose Quintana had his scheduled Sunday start pushed back until tonight against the Dodgers - we're not 38-23 for the season. Let's stick with Quintana (owned in 14.6 percent of FOXSports.com leagues) tonight despite his bad matchup with Clayton Kershaw in LA, and take Jake Arrieta (1.5 percent owned) against the bad-hitting Mets on Tuesday.

Quintana will get support from 1B Jose Abreu, who is scheduled to come off the DL today.

Diamondbacks OF A.J. Pollock could miss up to two months after breaking his right hand on Saturday. Speedy Ender Inciarte (43 SB at Double A last season) played center field on Sunday, and he might be able to provide an immediate speed boost in deeper leagues. Inciarte is now an NL-only pickup candidate; deeper mixed leaguers can also consider him, depending on who else is available. The D-backs also called up David Peralta, who had six homers and an .839 OPS at Double A.

It sounds like Carlos Santana will return to the Indians' lineup on Friday.

The Blue Jays called up Marcus Stroman again over the weekend, and thanks to his good outing, he'll start again on Friday.

With Danny Valencia (wrist) on the DL, 3B Mike Moustakas is back with the Royals. Moustakas hit well during eight games at Triple A, but it's hard to have any faith in him right now.

If all goes well, Carlos Beltran might be ready to rejoin the Yankee lineup later this week.

Mariners 2B Robinson Cano has missed four straight games due to a bruised hand, and he's still day to day.

The Marlins have placed C Jarrod Saltalamacchia on the seven-day concussion DL.

Mets OF Juan Lagares will get an MRI today on his injured ribcage.

See you back here tomorrow morning.
