The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have activated pitcher Jered Weaver from the 15-day disabled list and named him the starter for Wednesday's matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Weaver fractured his left elbow on April 7 against the Texas Rangers after falling awkwardly on the elbow while dodging a Mitch Moreland line drive back toward the mound.

The 30-year-old right-hander, who notched his first 20-win campaign in 2012, allowed five runs on seven hits in five innings before the injury and owns an 0-1 record with a 4.91 earned run average over two starts this season.

To make room for Weaver, the Angels designated pitcher Mark Lowe for assignment.

Lowe, 29, gave up 12 runs in 11 2/3 innings over 11 games with the Halos this season. He was 1-0 with a 9.26 ERA.
