Mel Tjeerdsma, Larry Kehres and former Illinois coach Lou Tepper will coach this year's American team in the world football tournament.

The International Federation of American Football championships will be held July 8-16 in Austria.

Tjeerdsma will be the head coach. He was 183-43 in 17 seasons and took Northwest Missouri State to seven Division II national championship games.

Kehres is 303-23-3 in 25 seasons at Mount Union and turned the Ohio school into a national power. He will be the offensive coordinator. Tepper will be the defensive coordinator.

The Americans won the gold medal in 2007, their first appearance in the tourney held every four years. Any athlete over 20 years old is eligible for the team.
