American forward Eddie Johnson loaned to Preston

American forward Eddie Johnson has been loaned from Fulham to Preston North End.

The 26-year-old, a member of the 30-man preliminary U.S. roster for last year's World Cup, has no goals in 12 appearances for Fulham this season.

Preston is last in England's second-tier League Championship. Fulham announced the loan Monday.

A Florida native, Johnson left Kansas City of Major League Soccer to sign with Fulham in January 2008. He was loaned to Cardiff City for the 2008-9 season and to Greece's Aris for the second half of the 2009-10 season.
