Mexico City, Mexico (SportsNetwork.com) - America won for the fifth time in as many games to begin its Liga MX campaign as Oribe Peralta scored in stoppage time to lift his side to a 3-2 win over Morelia.

Pablo Aguilar easily headed America in front in the 38th minute when he was left unmarked a few yards from goal for a simple finish, while Duvier Riascos answered shortly after the break for Morelia with a header of his own that struck the post and went in off the leg of America goalkeeper Moises Munoz.

Rubens Sambueza restored America's advantage five minutes later with a long- range effort, but Morelia once again had a reply as substitute David Depetris prodded the ball home from a few yards with 15 minutes to play.

However, Morelia was unable to hold on for a point as some poor defending allowed Peralta to get into the area on the right and roll his shot inside the far post for the winning goal.

Atlas remains two points back of America in second place after a late 1-0 win over Leones Negros that saw Luis Cabellero convert a 90th-minute penalty kick for the lone goal.

Monterrey topped Cruz Azul, 3-1, with all three goals coming from Dorlan Pabon, who leads Liga MX with six tallies on the campaign.

Defending champions Leon came from a goal down to beat UNAM, 2-1, Toluca handed Pachuca a 3-0 defeat behind two goals from Pablo Velazquez, Dario Benedetto notched a brace in Tijuana's 2-1 victory over Jaguares, Santos edged Guadalajara, 1-0, on a goal from Carlos Quintero two minutes from time, and Puebla finished in a 1-1 draw with Tigres.
