MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (Reuters) - NBA leading rebounder Kevin Love injured his groin and walked off the court and did not return to action during the Minnesota Timberwolves' 127-95 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.
Love, who earlier this season established a modern NBA record with 53 consecutive games of at least 10 points and 10 rebounds, left the match early in the second quarter and was scoreless with three rebounds.
"He was just bothered," Minnesota coach Kurt Rambis told the team's website (www.nba.com/timberwolves). "I was not informed of anything that was bothering him prior to the game."
Love was averaging 20.6 points and 15.6 rebounds per game before Sunday's encounter.
