Alan Williams filled up the box score with a career-high 39 points to go along with eight blocks and nine rebounds as UC Santa Barbara defeated South Dakota State on Friday night 83-64.

The Gauchos (3-2) took over after the break, as they scored 51 second half points after only leading by two in a low scoring first half 32-30. Williams went 10-of-12 from the field in the second half to score 26 of his 39 points.

Chad White led the Jackrabbits (3-5) with 12 points and Cody Larson had 11.

The Gauchos held South Dakota State to 43 percent shooting, and scored 17 points off 15 Jackrabbit turnovers. Williams's blocked shots were big, as the Gauchos scored 34 points in the paint compared to 14 by South Dakota State.
