Tuscaloosa, AL – Alabama running back Trent Richardson and defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick have announced they will skip their senior seasons and enter the NFL draft.
Both were important players in the Crimson Tide's national championship run this season.
Richardson totaled 1,679 yards and 21 touchdowns rushing, and earned the 2011 Doak Walker Award as the nation's top running back. He ran for 96 yards and the lone touchdown in Alabama's 21-0 victory against LSU in Monday's BCS National Championship contest.
The 5-foot-11, 224-pound back also caught 29 passes for 338 yards and three scores this season, and was a Heisman Trophy finalist.
Kirkpatrick provided shut-down coverage for the Crimson Tide, totaling nine pass break-ups and nine passes defended. The 6-foot-3 corner also had 30 tackles and two forced fumbles.
