Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen says Matt McGloin has put himself in the discussion about the starting quarterback role after three touchdown passes in his first career start in place of the injured Terrelle Pryor.

Allen said Monday he will wait to name a starter for this week's game against Tennessee until after he meets with Pryor to determine the status of his injured knee.

Allen would not commit to Pryor regaining the starting job if he is healthy, saying the decision will come down to who gives the team the best chance to win.

McGloin's strong start helped the Raiders (4-6) beat Houston 28-23 to get back into the thick of the race for the final AFC playoff spot.
