Bremen, Germany – Defender Francois Affolter completed a loan move to Werder Bremen from Swiss side Young Boys Bern on Wednesday.
Werder Bremen will have the services of Affolter at its disposal until Dec. 31, 2012 and it will have the option to buy the center back at the conclusion of the loan spell.
"He is technically well trained, is very quick and has a good overview.," said Bremen head coach Thomas Schaaf. "He has a certain calmness with the ball. He is a younger player with a lot of potential."
The 20-year-old, who has been training with the club since Tuesday, completed a medical Wednesday and will resume training on Thursday.
