Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is a beast, but real always recognizes real. And when Peterson looks at Chicago Bears outside linebacker Pernell McPhee, he sees a beast.

Peterson said McPhee stands out on film like "a man among children," according to Zach Zaidman of the Bears Radio Network.

Chicago's starting inside linebackers lead the team in tackles, but McPhee is third on the list with a total of 30 stops this season (24 solo, three for loss). The outside linebacker, signed in free agency this spring, has become the Bears' best pass-rusher with 4.0 sacks. McPhee has also intercepted a pass this year.

This is McPhee's first season as a full-time starter. The former fifth-round draft pick spent four seasons as a reserve with the Baltimore Ravens. Now he has a player of Peterson's caliber pointing him out to the media; that should seriously boost McPhee's rep around the league.
