Aberdeen, Scotland (SportsNetwork.com) - Aberdeen earned its third consecutive victory in league play on Monday on the strength of a brace from Niall McGinn, rolling to a 4-0 result over Partick Thistle at the Pittodrie Stadium.
The hosts struck first just 25 minutes into the game when McGinn bagged his fourth goal of the season before doubling the lead five minutes before the intermission after Calvin Zola found the back of the net.
After the break, Aberdeen widened the gap to 3-0 via a goal from Michael Hector in the 64th minute and McGinn netted his second of the match three minutes from time.
Partick Thistle failed to generate many quality scoring opportunities and ultimately suffered its fourth defeat of the season. Aberdeen, meanwhile, leaps to second place in the Scottish Premiership with the result, four points behind defending champions Celtic.
