San Francisco wide receiver Anquan Boldin became the 13th player to reach 1,000 career receptions in Sunday's matchup at the Detroit Lions.

Boldin caught a five-yard pass from Blaine Gabbert on the game's first play from scrimmage to briefly move into a tie with Hines Ward (1,000) for No. 12 on the all-time list.

The 35-year-old Boldin, who entered the contest with 999 receptions, added two more catches on the opening drive to move into sole possession of the 12th spot. Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald, who plays Sunday versus Green Bay, entered the day in 11th place with 1,008 catches.

Coincidentally, Boldin made his NFL debut at Detroit on Sept. 7, 2003, and established what still stands as his career high with 217 yards receiving on 10 catches, including a pair of touchdowns.
