Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston has had a chance to play against the best in baseball, too.

Florida State's quarterback in the fall, Winston entered the Seminoles' exhibition game against the New York Yankees on Tuesday in the fifth inning as the left fielder. He then grounded out to second base in the sixth inning while facing minor leaguer Shane Greene.

Winston took two called strikes from Greene before getting a loud cheer when he shattered his bat on a grounder that went foul. On the next pitch, Winston hit a groundball to second.

Winston led the Florida State football team to the 2013 national championship in a 34-31 victory over Auburn on January 6.

The 6-foot-4, 230 pound sophomore has allowed one hit over four scoreless innings in three games as the Seminoles' closer this season.

He played in the field twice previously this year, getting a hit in his lone at-bat.
