The anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks is this Saturday, and the museum on the attacks has released an iPhone app on the subject.

The app Explore 9/11 was created to remind people what happened on that day, part of the work of the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, a non-profit responsible for the oversight of the design, fundraising, programming and operating the memorial and museum being built at the World Trade Center site.

The app provides simple statistics about the terrorist attacks accessibly by flipping through on your iPhone, including photos and first-person accounts of what happened that day.

There's no charge for downloading or using the application and there are no pop-up ads.
