Astronaut Buzz Aldrin will take one quick step for man when he joins the celebrity lineup on US TV show Dancing With The Stars.

The second man ever on the moon after Neil Armstrong will be the oldest contestant ever on the series at age 80.

Celebrity mom of eight Kate Gosselin will also be joining the line-up, along with Baywatch babe Pamela Anderson, former 90210 bad girl Shannen Doherty and the most recent TV Bachelor Jake Pavelka.

Rounding out the 10-strong dancing crew are Olympic gold medal figure skater Evan Lysacek, ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews, Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, NFL star Chad Ochocinco, and actors Aiden Turner and Niecy Nash.

The show will air in the U.S. starting March 22.
