Pastor interrupts Trump, asks him not to give stump speech
Republican presidential nominee was speaking in Flint, Michigan
Donald Trump received a very succinct message Wednesday during a speech in Flint, Michigan: focus on the water crisis, not Hillary Clinton.
Trump toured the Flint water plant earlier in the day before delivering brief remarks at the Bethel United Methodist Church.
After commenting on the 2014 water crisis that affected 100,000 people, as well as the announcement by Ford that it was moving part of its car manufacturing operations to Mexico, the Republican businessman switched gears and started attacking his Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton.
The church’s pastor, the Rev. Faith Green Timmons, came on stage and abruptly told Trump, “I invited you here to thank us for what we’ve done in Flint, not give a political speech.”
Without missing a beat, Trump responded, “OK. That’s good. Then I’m going back to Flint, OK?”
Trump finished his remarks and left the church.
