A story in the Daily Caller alleging via anonymous sources that presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has migraine headaches so intense they keep her from routine business sent the 2012 campaign trail into an uproar Tuesday.

Those who have followed Bachmann's career have long known about her headaches, which have, in a few instances, befallen her on the House floor. They were severe enough to summon medics from the Office of the Attending Physician.

But after a few campaign rallies Tuesday in South Carolina, Bachmann stepped to the mics to read a prepared statement on her headaches saying, "I experience migraines that are easily controllable with medication."

"My ability to function effectively will not affect my ability to serve as Commander in Chief," Bachmann went on to say.

The timing of the article is odd, given the lack of news. On Tuesday's Power Play Live w/Chris Stirewalt, both the Hill's A.B. Stoddard and "Special Report" host Bret Baier doubted the "revelation" would impact the popular Minnesota congresswoman's presidential campaign.
