A blizzard forecast to blow through Iowa is unlikely to affect Monday night's caucuses, but could strand candidates and media who try to depart the Hawkeye State Tuesday.

The Des Moines Register reported that the storm isn't expected to arrive until Tuesday morning, but will dump 6 to 12 inches of snow across the state.

The expected heavy snowfall at the Des Moines airport could lead to delayed or canceled flights for campaign staffers and media members, who will either be trying to head home or moving on to New Hampshire, site of the next presidential primary Feb. 9.
