Paul Pelosi, the husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was charged on Thursday with DUI with injury by the Napa County District Attorney's Office after he was involved in a crash on May 28.

A press release from the district attorney's office states that Paul Pelosi had a blood alcohol content level of .082% after the crash, and said the blood sample was taken at 12:32 a.m., which was two hours after the collision occurred at 10:17 p.m.

The charges filed against Paul Pelosi are considered misdemeanor over felony charges, and the press release states that the decision for pressing misdemeanor charges were based "upon the extent of the injuries suffered by the victim."

The punishment for misdemeanor DUI includes "up to five years of probation, a minimum of five days in jail, installation of an ignition interlock device, fines and fees, completion of a court ordered drinking driver class, and other terms as appropriate," according to the district attorney.

Paul Pelosi will appear for an arraignment in the Napa County Superior Court on August 3, 2022.

Evidence in the case, such as dash-cam footage from law enforcement from Paul Pelosi's arrest, cannot be released by the district attorney's office under the California Rules of Professional Conduct, according to the press release.

The California Highway Patrol denied a second public records request from Fox News Digital on Thursday seeking dash-cam footage of the arrest, stating that the agency is in possession of the information, but cannot release it because it could "jeopardize an ongoing investigation."
