5:30pm Watch Live President Obama Stumps for Colorado Senator

President Obama is heading to Denver to round up cash for Democratic Colorado Senator Michael Bennet, who was appointed to his seat after its occupant, Ken Salazar, became the President's Interior Secretary.

Some are questioning whether its wise for the President to dip his foot into the mid-term elections during the primary process. One Colorado Democrat explained the pitfalls of such a move this way: "You upset people who are your friends."

Still, J.B. Poersch of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee says Mr. Obama will be "active and aggressive" in his efforts to maintain the Democrats' Senate majority.

Amber Wilkerson Marchand with the National Republican Senatorial Committee says President Obama's visit is not going to help Bennet's election bid. "While Bennet might be the Democrat establishment’s choice candidate, there’s a reason why he...continues to trail his Republican opponents in a number of public polls.  Voters in Colorado have openly rejected Bennet’s decision to rubberstamp the President’s unpopular agenda.”

The President will be speaking live at 5:30pm est.  [foxlivestream]
