"Taylor and Travis's wedding is the the event of the season, and my intuition from dealing with many celebrity weddings is that the public nature of the Madison Square Garden planning is a decoy and a diversion from the real event, which is more than likely happening in a more intimate setting," she said.

Reports have been circulating all week that Kelce and Swift will be tying the knot inside of Madison Square Garden on July 3. Neither party has shared any information about their wedding.

Former NYPD chief Kenneth E. Corey told Fox News Digital that the department is "well equipped to handle" the large-scale, high-profile event.

"Security inside of Madison Square Garden will be handled privately, either by MSG or arranged by the event organizer," Corey said. "The role of the NYPD will be crowd management, which for any large scale event today includes a substantial counterterrorism overlay."

He noted that in addition to street closures, the plan likely requires "deploying specially trained and equipped counterterrorism officers, explosive detection canines and other countermeasures."

"I would expect several hundred officers will be assigned to police this event – on each day," Corey noted.

"The timing of the event adds to an already very busy time in New York City. From the FIFA World Cup, to Sail 250, the July 4th Fireworks shows and so many other events happening in NYC over the next week, the department is stretched very thin."

He added, "The amount of resources needed to ensure the safety of people at these planned events is unprecedented in the department’s history."

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch revealed Wednesday that they have "detail in place" for a major event at Madison Square Garden.

"Before I close in a briefing about major events happening this weekend in New York City, I would be remiss not to mention an event that we are tracking at Madison Square Garden on Friday night," Tisch said.

"The NYPD will, of course, have a detail in place, but I am not going to go into more specifics on that at this time."

Swift and Kelce are expected to tie the knot at MSG on July 3 in front of 1,000 guests.

A few New York Knicks may return to Madison Square Garden this week as guests of the reported Travis Kelce/Taylor Swift wedding.

A source told Page Six that the couple invited “the starting lineup for the Knicks,” including Jalen Brunson, to their wedding on Friday.
