Alessandra Conti, Celebrity Matchmaker at Matchmakers in The City, told Fox News Digital that she believes Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's "Madison Square Garden" wedding is a decoy.

"Taylor and Travis's wedding is the the event of the season, and my intuition from dealing with many celebrity weddings is that the public nature of the Madison Square Garden planning is a decoy and a diversion from the real event, which is more than likely happening in a more intimate setting," she said.

Conti added: "It is the ultimate Trojan Horse, and I can't wait to see where they actually tie the knot!"

Reports have been circulating all week that Kelce and Swift will be tying the knot inside of Madison Square Garden on July 3. Neither party has shared any information about their wedding.

Madison Square Garden has hosted high profile events for decades before Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's rumored wedding.

Former NYPD chief Kenneth E. Corey told Fox News Digital that the department is "well equipped to handle" the large-scale, high-profile event.

"Security inside of Madison Square Garden will be handled privately, either by MSG or arranged by the event organizer," Corey said. "The role of the NYPD will be crowd management, which for any large scale event today includes a substantial counterterrorism overlay."

He noted that in addition to street closures, the plan likely requires "deploying specially trained and equipped counterterrorism officers, explosive detection canines and other countermeasures."

"I would expect several hundred officers will be assigned to police this event – on each day," Corey noted.

"The timing of the event adds to an already very busy time in New York City. From the FIFA World Cup, to Sail 250, the July 4th Fireworks shows and so many other events happening in NYC over the next week, the department is stretched very thin."

He added, "The amount of resources needed to ensure the safety of people at these planned events is unprecedented in the department’s history."

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch revealed Wednesday that they have "detail in place" for a major event at Madison Square Garden.

"Before I close in a briefing about major events happening this weekend in New York City, I would be remiss not to mention an event that we are tracking at Madison Square Garden on Friday night," Tisch said.

"The NYPD will, of course, have a detail in place, but I am not going to go into more specifics on that at this time."

Swift and Kelce are expected to tie the knot at MSG on July 3 in front of 1,000 guests.

A few New York Knicks may return to Madison Square Garden this week as guests of the reported Travis Kelce/Taylor Swift wedding.

A source told Page Six that the couple invited “the starting lineup for the Knicks,” including Jalen Brunson, to their wedding on Friday.

Swift was most recently spotted courtside at Game 4 of the NBA finals as the Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs at home before ultimately winning their first championship in 53 years.

Laughing alongside Mariska Hargitay and the Haim sisters, Swift rocked a "Stevie Knicks" blue T-shirt with orange lettering in support of the team.

Preparations were underway bright and early Wednesday for what appeared to be Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's wedding. 

Fox News' Alexis McAdams reported on a memo circulating which revealed a rehearsal dinner including 100 people slated for July 2.

The Swift-Kelce wedding is reportedly taking place on Friday, July 3, with 1,000 people expected to attend, according to the source.

"Cameras were rolling as crews spent hours unloading equipment outside of the massive arena in the Big Apple this week," McAdams said. 

"Preparations continuing for a reportedly strict black tie event with NDAs, no phone policies for the guests, security and even the vendors."

Fox News Digital caught up with Taylor Swift fans outside of Madison Square Garden Wednesday.

When asked the best marriage advice for the couple, the fan noted they needed to "communicate with each other."

"I think it's good that they're getting married later in life, cause I think maybe that will work," she added.

"When you get married a little earlier in life, maybe it doesn't so much. But I think, hey, have kids right away and just communicate with each other."

Her friend agreed and said, "Communication is the key. You've gotta keep it spicy."

Swift and Kelce first sparked dating rumors in 2023 after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed that he had unsuccessfully tried to give the pop superstar a friendship bracelet during her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City.

The pair later confirmed their romance when Swift began attending Chiefs games and cheering Kelce on from the stands.

After two years of dating, the couple announced their engagement in August 2025.

Neither Swift nor Kelce has publicly commented on the latest wedding rumors, but that hasn't stopped fans from scrutinizing every potential clue.

Madison Square Garden employees are not allowed to have their phones during their shifts at the venue this week, according to TMZ.

Variety reported what appeared to be a baby grand piano being wheeled into the venue Wednesday afternoon.

Outside of "The World's Most Famous Arena," a guard told Fox News Digital that the Infosys Theater at MSG was also "closed out" due to a holiday.

Ahead of the wedding frenzy, Travis Kelce's father referred to his soon-to-be daughter-in-law as "the girl next door."

Ed Kelce didn't give any details to FOX 29 Philly about the upcoming wedding, but he did take a moment to gush about Swift.

"I am super excited," Ed told the outlet about the highly anticipated wedding. "She is a sweetheart. That is truly the girl next door."

Ed has been notoriously loose-lipped when it comes to details about Kelce and Swift's relationship. He gave fans all the details of Kelce's proposal back in 2025. Kelce proposed in the backyard of his home in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

"He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, 'Let's go out and have a glass of wine.’ ... They got out there, and that's when he asked her, and it was beautiful," he told News 5 Cleveland. "They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great."

Outside of "The World's Most Famous Arena," a guard told Fox News Digital that the Infosys Theater at MSG was "closed out" due to a holiday.

"It's like a private event, holiday," the guard said.

The theater, which is normally open, was unavailable to visitors wandering through the arena. When asked if the closure was due to Swift and Kelce's big day, the guard refused to elaborate.

"I don't have that information," he said. "I've got integrity of my job on the clock."

While Michelin-starred chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is rumored to be in the running, sources told Vanity Fair that his confirmation is still in the mail.

A source familiar with the matter said that much like the fan speculation, the caterer, too, is waiting on official confirmation. 

Vongeritchen famously catered president Donald Trump's 2005 wedding to Melania, and has a namesake restaurant in Trump Tower.

Additionally, the restaurateur owns a few of New York's hottest spots, including the Mark Restaurant on the Upper East Side, ABC Kitchen in the Flatiron, and Chez Marguax.

Only time will tell the true economic impact Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce may have on the city as their Madison Square Garden wedding looms.

An employee at the local Pioneers Bar told Fox News Digital that street closures would "definitely" hurt their business.

Another employee at a local stadium bar said that while traffic may be challenging, the wedding will be "good for business."

He added, "Anything that brings the people in is great."

"They could have folks put there phones in in a faraday bag and get a ticket to get it back," RoseMarie Terenzio at RMT PR Management told Fox News Digital.

Details about the wedding remain scarce, but Fox News Digital reported Tuesday that the NYPD is preparing for an event spanning Thursday into the early hours on Saturday morning, and involve street closures, hundreds of VIPs and more, according to another source.

Nearly 50 years ago, Sly Stone made his own vision come to life at MSG and transformed the venue for his star-studded wedding, which included 20,000 guests and a live concert with The Family Stone.

In June 1974, Sly and his bride, Kathy Silva, said "I do" at the legendary venue before his own concert on the same evening.

Now, Swift and Kelce are gearing up to host a reported 1,000 of their own guests at Madison Square Garden on July 3.

TMZ reported on June 30 that parts of a castle were seen being craned inside of Madison Square Garden.

Sources told the outlet that a massive white castle will be assembled inside of Madison Sqaure Garden for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding. TMZ also noted that a garden is allegedly being crafted inside of the arena -- a nod to the couple's engagement photos.

Back in August, Swift and Kelce uploaded a joint Instagram post announcing their engagement. "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," Swift captioned the photos at the time.

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle told ExtraTV that he was confirmed to attend the star-studded nuptials, but would leave presents behind.

"They said absolutely no gifts. But I was thinking, Travis, for some reason, really likes old coins, so I might get him an old coin," Kittle told the outlet.
