Carolina Herrera was almost born into fashion. Born into a well-to-do family in Caracas, Venezuela, she saw her first fashion show—that of Cristobal Balenciaga—when she was just 13, and years later created her debut 1981 collection at the behest of legendary fashion editor Diana Vreeland.

Fox News Latino caught up with the always-elegant designer backstage at her runway show at the Fall 2011 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

We asked: With a style known for its glamour, timelessness and exquisite detail, would Herrera ever consider teaming up with a more-affordable mass market retailer like H&M or JC Penney, as other designers have?

"If they ask me, I would be delighted to do it," she said, laughing. "Why not?" (You heard it here first, Target!)
