Parents will do anything to keep kids happy and avoid a screaming match, which is why this cheap tip for getting sand off feet could be the savior of your next beach trip.

Most people will have grappled with sandy feet at the beach, trying to wash them off in the sea, using the towel to try and clean them, or just giving up and putting our sandals on with the inevitable chafe.

But moms have come up with an ingenious way of banishing sandy feet for good, and you probably already have what you need at home.

Talcum powder is a household essential, even if you don’t have kids.

But it could now be a beach must-have, after parents revealed how they used talcum powder to get rid of sand.

Taking to Mumsnet, they explained you should rub talc on your feet and toes before cleaning your feet.

Revealing the tip online, they said: “Chuck a load on your feet to help brush off the sand that’s stuck to them. Works like a charm.”

While another mum said: “Tried talc on sand today … got a few weird looks but lo and behold, it did in fact work!”

Just before putting your shoes on, apply a large amount of powder to your feet, and it should start to soak up all the moisture from your feet.

That means the sand will no longer stick, and with a quick dust from the towel your feet should be sand-free.
