Thanks to a news report by Fox 2, a young single mother of three battling breast cancer has a new home, MyFoxDetroit reported.

On Wednesday, June 3, the station featured Simone Hearn, 24, who was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in February. She was in her second round of chemotherapy and will eventually have a double mastectomy.

Her family, which includes a 7-year-old, a 2-year-old and a 1-year-old, were staying with relatives in amid difficult conditions and without electricity for months. The relative was about to lose the home, leaving Hearn and her children on the verge of homelessness.

Viewers of Fox 2 reached out, raising over $18,000 for the family, allowing them to rent a home in Inkster, Mich., and cover utilities. Hearn’s daughter can stay in her school district.

"If I could hug them all, I would," Hearn told the news channel.

"I'll be going under surgery next month also," she told MyFoxDetroit. "So the house came in time so I can recover. I'm thankful for everyone who has donated, and who are praying and who are thinking of us."
