Have Acne? There's Not an App for That, FTC Says

The Federal Trade Commission says don't count on the “Acne App” to clear your skin.

Houston dermatologist Dr. Greg Pearson created the “Acne App”.

The FTC fined the application’s promoters and similar ones like it, a total of $16,000.

Both companies claimed their apps could cure acne using blue and red light treatments from your phone.

But the FTC says that's not true.

In settling with the feds, both companies must stop making health claims and return their profits.
