Like many hip parents of young children, Kate Middleton apparently loves to enlist a helping hand from her kids in the kitchen. The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly told her audience at a recent royal engagement that her two eldest, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, love to make “cheesy pasta” and prepare salads together, and that her three-year-old daughter has a particular penchant for olives.

On Tuesday, the 37-year-old mother of three paid a visit to the Lavender Primary School, outside London, in support of Children’s Mental Health Week, sponsored by one of her personal charities, Place2Be.

Sitting down with the students to chat about mental health and general well-being, the Duchess divulged the culinary habits of her own kids, as per People.

“She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her. They made cheesy pasta the other day,” Matthew Kleiner-Mann, chief executive of Ivy Learning Trust, told local media of Middleton’s revelation. “One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff.”

According to the outlet, Duchess Kate also told the students that Princess Charlotte is absolutely wild about one salty snack.

“Charlotte loves olives,” she allegedly said.

In a larger sense, the royal was also happy to discuss the all-important connection between diet, physical exercise and overall health.

Meeting students in a Year 6 classroom at work on a “mood meter” to explore the link between food, the body and mind, the Duchess chimed in on how sugar, albeit appealing, can quickly lead to unpleasant crashes.

“It’s interesting how food and energy and how you feel work together,” she said, as per People. “It’s amazing the connection between physical and mental well-being.”

Though there’s no word yet on what Prince Louis, 9 months, especially likes to munch on, all bets are on that he enjoys healthy staples and treats approved by his doting mom.

“Food is important to her and she understands the links between mental health and physical exercise,” Kleinier-Mann added of Middleton’s overall approach to food and heath.
