Donald Trump continues to lead the polls among the Republican presidential hopefuls, but to one Washington, D.C. restaurant owner, the tycoon is full of bologna.

American City Diner is serving up a new menu item called the “Trump Sandwich” made with bologna, lettuce and tomatoes.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0]; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));

Owner Jeffrey Gildenhorn, a former politician want-to-be, said he created the sandwich after witnessing Trump’s “outlandish ways.”

“I ran for office to be the mayor of D.C. in 1988,” Gildenhorn told WJLA. “I was an outsider just like Trump is. You’ve got to be creative.”

The sandwich, which costs $6.95, was advertised on the restaurant marquee earlier this week and Gildenhorn says he will offer the item as long as he has enough bologna.
