Could Demi Lovato or Paulina Rubio be leaving the “X Factor” judges’ table next season?

There’s a possibility that the Latina superstars – or any of the current judges, really – may no longer be offering their unique critiques and advice to potential stars, according to the show’s producer Simon Cowell.

The British music mogul said in a teleconference Monday that he expects the singing contest to return next season, but that he is plotting changes for the hit FOX show, including new judges and a new role for him.

He said the judging panel probably will be different, which this season also includes former Destiny’s Child singer Kelly Rowland.

Cowell said he has recruits in mind, but he declined to identify them. He said he envisions what he called a "different kind of role" for himself, but he wouldn't be more specific.

The show may also be cut back to one night instead of two, and format changes are under discussion to keep it fresh, the music mogul said.

The show's ratings have dipped in season three. The winner will be announced on the finale Thursday.
