WWE Diva Lilian Garcia helps celebrate Hispanic Heritage Day with the NY Jets
WWE Smackdown announcer Lilian Garcia has been released from the hospital after being hit by a car in Los Angeles, the WWE said on their website on Sunday.
Garcia’s husband, Christopher Jozeph, told the WWE in a statement that Garcia is still being monitored by doctors.
“Lilian has been released from the LA hospital, but is still under medical watch due to her body injuries,” Jozeph told the WWE. “The love, support and prayers from our immediate family, our friends and the WWE family and Universe is extremely heartfelt and strengthening during this unfortunate time.”
The Spanish/Puerto Rican WWE personality was struck by a car Friday afternoon. According to the WWE, Garcia had multiple cuts and bruises on the left side of her body.
Jozeph took to Twitter to express his gratitude to his wife’s fans.
“Thk U 2 @WWE & every1 4 sending my wife@LilianGarcia ur prayers during this difficult time. Its strengthening & comforting #GetBetterLilian,” he posted on Sunday.
The accident occurred just Garcia and Jozeph finished celebrating his birthday festivities. The star took to Twitter to talk about and post photos of the celebration.
“This is how Christopher Jozephs birthday ended. Now that's a real cowboy! Thx @LilianGarcia for memories :)” Garcia posted the same day of the accident, linking to a photo where the couple and some friends appear to be at a ranch together.
“Just finished taking my hubby @VokareFashion 4 a Couples Thai massage 4 his bday & now having lunch @ Gladstones! ❤,” she posted on Thursday with a photo of her and Jozeph hugging and smiling.
Just last month Fox News Latino spoke to Garcia during Hispanic Heritage Month.
The WWE announcer turned singer was selected to be the halftime performer during the New York Jets/San Francisco 49ers game at MetLife Stadium in New York City last month.
“This is a wonderful honor,” said Garcia.
“I love the NFL and I’m ready to give the crowd a great, high energy show at halftime as I perform songs from my new EP, ‘My Time.’ This will be the eighth time I’ve sung the national anthem at a Jets Game and I love it,” she said. “ I am particularly honored that I’ve been asked to perform as part of Hispanic Heritage Month. It will be privilege to represent the millions of Hispanics who are proud to call America their home.”
