Wounded Marine shows inspiring determination at reunion hike
Viral video shows injured Marine fighting to climb and honor his fallen comrades
Ain’t no mountain high enough to keep this Marine from climbing to the top! The video of Josue Barron, a wounded Afghanistan War veteran, has gone viral with viewers commending him for his strength & perseverance. This morning he shared what motivated him through the grueling climb on FOX & Friends.
For Barron, the climb was anything but leisurely. His unit reunited 5 years following their deployment to honor the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, climbing a hill that measures nearly one mile in length. Barron lost a leg and eye while deployed in Afghanistan, leaving him with a full leg prosthetic that didn’t function properly on the steep climb. Rather than sitting it out, he fought on!
Since recovering from his injury, Barron has run in 6 marathons and competed in the Warrior Games as both a hand cyclist and wheelchair basketball player.
