Everyone's talking about ESPN's Sage Steele after the network announced she been axed from hosting "NBA Countdown."

Rumors swirled that Steele was replaced due to her conservative politics but a source told Fox News she is still "very much employed" by ESPN and is leading the network's "SportsCenter on the Road" initiative.

- She hosted the Saturday and Sunday editions of "NBA Countdown" for four seasons. She currently hosts ESPN's "SportsCenter On The Road."

- She started her career as a news producer and reporter for a local news station in South Bend, Indiana.

- Steele was born in 1972 into a military family. Her father, Gary Steele, was the first African American to play varsity football at West Point.

- The journalist graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in 1995 with a degree in sports communication.

- Steele is married to Jonathan Bailey, a former personal trainer. They have three children.
