Jimmy Fallon will host the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards, NBC announced Tuesday.
"Hosting the Emmys has been a dream of mine ever since they told me I was doing it," the Late Night host said in a statement.
Fallon, 35, was the "natural choice" for the gig, according to Paul Telegdy, NBC's executive vice president of alternative programming.

"His proven skills as a comedian and host — as well as his openness to new ideas — will fully engage audiences and ultimately deliver a lively Emmy telecast," Telegdy said.
Nominations for the Primetime Emmys will be announced July 8. The ceremony will take place Sunday, Aug. 29 at 8 p.m./ET.
Is Fallon a good choice? Can he top Neil Patrick Harris' song-and-dance number from last year?
