World Cup fans, you better get those hips ready.
After the brouhaha over Jennifer Lopez during the opening ceremony of the World Cup in Brazil, FIFA announced that Colombian superstar Shakira and hip hop artist Wyclef Jean will perform at the closing ceremony.
The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer will be at the World Cup for the third time and sing her "La La La (Brasil 2014)" with Brazil's Carlinhos Brown ahead of the July 13 final at Rio de Janeiro's Maracana Stadium.
Shakira is currently vacationing with boyfriend Gerard Piqué in Cancún after the Spanish soccer star’s team was knocked out of the World Cup’s first round after losing to Netherlands and Chile.
Wyclef, guitarist Santana and Alexandre Pires will combine on "Dar Um Jeito," the main theme song for the World Cup.
Announcing the lineup, FIFA also said the Brazilian singer-songwriter Ivete Sangalo "will bring a distinctive local flavor to the show" with a medley of well-known Brazilian numbers and will be joined by Pires.
Originally Lopez announced that she would be performing with Pitbull and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte at the World Cup opening ceremony on June 12, then said she was canceling because of production issues – only to flip-flop again incurring the wrath of soccer fans.
“Jennifer has always wanted to participate in the World Cup opening ceremony,” her rep said in a statement at the time. “We have been trying to work out scheduling and logistics. Any statements to the contrary were premature. Jennifer would not want to disappoint her fans or fans of fútbol.”
