Selena Gomez is vying hard to be in Amy Schumer's squad.
The "Good For You" singer couldn't help but brag about the 34-year-old outspoken comedian when she presented her with the Comedy Award during the Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday.
"I talk about her obsessively," Gomez gushed. "I've tweeted her often. I try to impersonate her and it doesn't really work."
The 23-year-old actress/singer even admitted she was happy Schumer's pal Jennifer Lawrence wasn't on hand to present the "Trainwreck" star with the award. "I actually just met her so basically what I'm saying is I'm really happy that clearly Jennifer Lawrence wasn't able to do this tonight because I love you," Gomez joked.
Praising Schumer as being one of the first to "speak to the women of [her] generation," Gomez added, "Amy, you've inspired me not take myself too seriously when I sit on my couch and I'm depressed about certain things. You constantly made me feel I'm a bad ass even though most of the time I'm not. You say the things I wish I could say and you never ever make feel bad about anything I do in my personal life."
After receiving quite the introduction by her new gal pal, Schumer quipped, "I didn't even ask Jen -- Selena, you were my first choice."
The comedian later Instagrammed: "Here is who I love @selenagomez angel."
While Gomez and Schumer have become fast friends, Lawrence is still very much in the comedian's celebrity circle. After Schumer won an Emmy for her show, "Inside Amy Schumer," she revealed to ET that Lawrence sent her a congratulatory message.
"Jennifer sent me a really sweet text," Schumer said backstage at the Emmys. "She said that I looked pretty but not smart."
